BOTH COTTAGES SLEEP 2

Named after two local mountains, both holiday cottages take advantage of the barn's original imposing height.

The entrance is from the barn's main stairwell and landing. A small lobby opens into a spacious double bedroom looking west. Opposite is an equally generous and tastefully tiled bathroom with bath (shower over), wash basin and WC. Next is the sitting/dining/kitchen room with cosy settee and armchair, colour TV, DVD player, dining table and chairs, which in turn lead to the wide and fully equipped kitchen with electric oven, hob, fridge, microwave oven and ample cupboard space.

From the living area, a steep wooden stairway leads to the gallerywith extra seating/reading space, designed to take full advantage of the barn roof. The original inhabitants - owls and bats - now live elsewhere and the owls are often to be heard.

The Ullock Pike and Calva cottages are a mirror image of each other. Ullock Pike has a view to the South and Ullock Pike itself, while Calva has a view to the North towards Binsey, the most northerly fell in the Lake District National Park. Both look West towards Bassenthwaite Lake, Sale Fell and the spectacular sunsets.
