THE STABLE :
SLEEPS 2/3

The Stable was converted in 2005 into a very comfortable ground floor cottage, originally it was called THE GIN CASE where the corn was threshed by horses turning a horizontal wheel hence the curved wall.

The Stable has easy access from the courtyard where there is a designated car parking space. There is a very large bedroom with either a super king size bed or 2 single beds. In the sitting room there is a settee, which converts into a double bed for extra guests. It also has a TV, DVD and a radio.

The main window looks south towards Ullock Pike. From the sitting room there are double glass doors leading through to the kitchen dining room with dining table and modern new kitchen equipment. (No dishwasher). From the kitchen window there are views of the extensive garden and also of Binsey the most northerly hill in the Lake District.

The bathroom is beautifully tiled with separate bath and shower. There is a rail in the shower and also by the w.c. Bath and basin to help the less able. Also an adjustable stool for the shower if desired.

All the floors are on one level.

The heating is by night storage electric heaters with extra heaters if necessary. All heating, cooking etc. is included in the price as well as all linen, towels, tea towels and bath mats.

We welcome able and less able people. Children/babies welcome. Dogs welcome.

Outside there is a large garden with several places to sit and enjoy the sun and our wonderful sunsets. For dog walking there are paths from the house including a bridle way leading down to the shore of Bassenthwaite Lake 1.5 miles away. This starts just outside The Stable window.
