The latest addition to Parkergate Self-Catering.

Situated just across the yard from the main house, the Stable has been designed to make access as easy as possible in a traditional farm building. All the accommodation is on one ground floor.

The kitchen/dining area was installed with new equipment at the end of 2005, to a very high standard.

The large airy sitting room has a colour TV and DVD player.

The spacious main bedroom can be used as a twin or a double.

The generous bathroom has both a bath and shower and the tiling is a work of art in itself.

Heating throughout is by night storage with boosts by a powerful wall heater in the bathroom. The overall effect is very comfortable and cosy.

In addition, every effort has been made, again within the limits imposed by an old stone farm building, to make the whole cottage as user friendly as possible. A ramp to the front door gives access to all but wide wheel chairs - these can also enter the floor level shower tray. There are extra rails in the shower and close to the WC.

Views to the South are of woodland and the towering height of Ullock Pike, one of the buttresses of Skiddaw. To the North, along the front of the main house and gardens, is Binsey - the most northern of fells in the Lake District National Park.
