Our Holiday Cottage Accommodation...

Parkergate consists of 5 self catering holiday cottages in converted barns, 4 within one big bank barn and the stable, which is attached to this barn.

• Whinlatter & Black Moss - both cottages sleep 5 people
• Ullock Pike & Calva - both cottages sleep 2 people
• The Stable - sleeps 2. Disabled friendly.

The main barn was built in 1859 and converted into self-catering holiday accommodation in 1995. The Stable was converted in 2005 into a ground floor cottage from an existing barn which had started as a Gin Case or threshing room and then used by the previous owners as a foaling room.

The main barn is heated with oil central heating, Black Moss and Whinlatter have open log fires. The Stable has night storage heaters and an electric fan heater in the bathroom.

We are keen to promote "sustainable" tourism in the Lake District and we are a supporter of Funding Conservation Through Tourism. We recycle wherever possible and encourage the use of public transport. There is a regular bus service to Keswick, Penrith, Carlisle, Cockermouth and Workington. We have bus timetables and use the buses ourselves. Our tap water at Parkergate is filtered fell water - as pure as nature intended!

Well behaved pets are welcome at £10 per week. Please be aware that this is open farmland and dogs MUST be under control at all times.

• shops 5 and 7 miles away (milk delivered to order)
• all central heating, power and bed linen included in price
• towels can be provided if requested in advance)
• we can supply logs for open fires at low cost (1st box included in price)
• a pet is welcome if well trained - remember the sheep and cows - please see our terms and conditions
• cot and high chair available
